Monday Manna – Be Still

monday-manna2

Feel the nudge to start a new blog feature – “Monday Manna.”  My intention is to post something from my journals every Monday, something that will feed your soul and give you more glimpses of God.  Please read them as if He is speaking to you.  Each one of us is His special treasure.

On this second day of the New Year, I believe we need to be still and hear His voice. With all the uncertainties of our time, we need His direction. And so we begin:

September 28, 2008 —

Lord, what are You doing?  I know You are always at work in our lives.

I am fashioning you for greatness.

You are? What does that mean?

There is so much more of Me I want to bring forth in you. All the seeds are there; every attribute accounted, but it’s in times like these that they are warmed by the fires of waiting. Like the Sequoia trees that need burning for growth, so it is. The fires are not to destroy but to activate the potential within for My greatness to grow and be seen.

You are a city on a hill. I want to take your candle and put it on a candlestick, so all will see Me, shining in you. What you’ve asked is what I am answering.

I work in the quiet hidden places away from the crowds and noise. My ways are just and true. My ways are found in hiddenness and rest, in waiting and trusting. I’m not a god that shouts, but one who whispers My love and gently, meticulously molds your being for My glory.

Be still now, quiet yourself and rest. The God of all gods and Lover of your soul is at work fashioning one of His treasures for greatness. Be still and rest in My arms of love and let Me have My way with you.

There is no fear in love. Rest in My love, rest.

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

Isaiah 30:15 For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”

If this spoke to your heart, I’d love to hear from you.  Please post a comment.  Thanks.
